breath between us is a professional Reiki (Usui System) and horn/voice duo that explores the dichotomy of traditional performance and healing. Kat Marie Smith and Carole Jean Ott are Reiki practitioners, conductors, educators, vocalists, and horn players. As partners in every sense of the word, they are endlessly interested in incorporating aspects of mindfulness, music, improvisation, and Reiki into every aspect of their lives. They strive to center marginalized voices and deconstruct the patriarchal status quo.

Carole is a third degree Reiki practitioner, singer, and conductor. She has practiced Reiki on herself and others for 10 years. Kat is a first-degree (for now) Reiki practitioner, 200-Hr Yoga instructor, herbalist, intuitive, horn player, and conductor. They live in Greensboro, NC with their three cats and one ten-year-old future theatre major.
